Your images

For most conversions, your images are processed in your browser and are never sent to our servers. This applies to JPG, PDF, SVG, ICO, GIF, BMP and TIFF output, to converting to PNG, and to the compress and resize tools.

Some formats can't be created by a browser: HEIC, EPS and PSD, and any format your particular browser doesn't support (for example AVIF or WebP in some browsers). For these, the image is uploaded over HTTPS, stored in a temporary folder under a random name, converted, and deleted automatically within 30 minutes. We don't look at, copy or share uploaded files, and we don't use them for any other purpose. The page tells you whenever a conversion is handled on the server.

Server logs

Like most web servers, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page and browser type) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes.

Database

Our database stores the text of the pages on this site, and a temporary record of failed sign-in attempts to the private admin area (a one-way hash of the address, not the address itself). It does not store your images or anything about visitors' browsing.

Cookies and tracking

PNG-TO doesn't set cookies, and it doesn't use advertising or tracking scripts. See the cookies page.

Third parties

The site doesn't load fonts, scripts or images from third parties.
